Location: Mkuzi Game Reserve, situated in northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, was proclaimed a protected area in 1912.
The 40,000-hectare is renowned as a mecca for bird watchers, with a bird list well in excess of 400.
There are two hides overlooking waterholes that provide excellent opportunities for taking wildlife photographs.
Animals inhabiting the reserve include black and white rhinoceros, elephant, giraffe, hippo, the handsome nyala antelope, blue wildebeest, impala,
kudu, plus other smaller antelope. Rare species occurring in the reserve are cheetah, hyena, suni and leopard.
