Location: Mkuzi Game Reserve, situated in northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, was proclaimed a protected area in 1912. The 40,000-hectare is renowned as a mecca for bird watchers, with a bird list well in excess of 400.

Predominantly flat and dry, with sandy ridges which are ancient dunes, it is home to an amazing diversity of natural habitats. Because of this, Mkuzi is able to accommodate a wide variety of wildlife and is both accessible and affordable as a safari destination.

There are two hides overlooking waterholes that provide excellent opportunities for taking wildlife photographs.
