Cheetah Walking Across Open Ground

The above photo was taken in harsh light during a particularly dry winter in Botswana's Mashatu Game Reserve.

As a result of the drought, the terrain through which the cheetah was making its way was a uniform, dull brown, devoid of grass or vegetation. Rather than stick with this coloring, I converted the photo to black and white in Lightroom. In summer, after good rains, Mashatu looks very different - see Cheetah in Lush Vegetation to compare.
