Five wildlife jigsaw puzzles have been added, so there're now 10 from which to choose.
They're not particularly taxing, but are fun if you have a few minutes
to spare.
It's a crazy couple of weeks here in South Africa, with a multitude of public holidays.
I'm heading off for the next 10 days to a little place called Haga Haga
on the east coast to stay with friends in a beach cottage, so please forgive me if you email me and don't get a reply. I'll have a laptop and cell phone,
but no Internet access.
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, the body that runs conservation in KwaZulu-Natal, is based in Pietermaritzburg, where I live. The conservation community
here is in shock after a ranger was killed by an elephant earlier this week. Fortune Mhize (26), was leading
a walking trail in the Hluhluwe-iMmfolozi Park, the province's premier nature reserve, when he was charged by the elephant.
Although this is the first time an elephant has killed anyone in the park, the attack is one of many in the past year
in which
people have been killed or injured by wild animals in southern Africa and serves as a stark reminder of the risks involved when you're in a wildlife area. You can read about other attacks here.
My thanks to Homer from Texas for testing and reporting back so thoroughly on the electronic postcards I created. Unfortunately, the cards
pose too many problems, including having to download a special plug-in, and also being being zapped by email filters, so I won't be adding them
as a permanent feature.
